The success of the production Shadow of Andersen's Illusion has marked the new creative series for the company.  Since then, SCDC have started to produce the series of dance meeting literature, providing the wonderful and magical interaction between choreographers and great writers, poets, and their literature from the past to the present time.  In November 2009, the premiere of the brand new production, I Died For Beauty-Emily Dickinson, will feature the dance work inspired by the 19th century American poet Emily Dickinson and her poem.

In addition, Scarecrow Contemporary Dance Company has been producing another site-specific creative dance series, Step InHappening, aiming at exploring the unusual sites for dance creation and performances other than regular stage space.  It has produced site-specific dance performances in varied places such as art gallery, coffee shop, old house, historical remain, and rooftop.  Each site was specifically choreographed just for it, no extra setting or technical set-up on the site.
